Our small businesses will need your help

First and foremost, I hope you and your family are healthy and well.

By staying home, limiting our contact with others, and following the recommended CDC guidelines and directives from Governor Sisolak, we are protecting the lives of thousands here in Nevada.

Once the curve has flattened, it will then be safe to resume life as normal. When that happens, our small businesses will need your help. This pandemic has put many small businesses on the sidelines but fortunately relief for them is on the way.

Just last week the the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) was signed into law.

The CARES Act provides over $376 billion in relief for struggling small businesses. This includes forgivable loans to small businesses who keep their employees on payroll throughout this crisis. For additional information on this bill, I have included the Chamber of Commerce guide and checklist here as well as a resource guide for employers created by my office.

It’s on us to make sure that Southern Nevada continues to be a place where the American Dream can come true. So please, once it is safe again to do so, visit your local small business. In the meantime, you can still enjoy some of your favorite restaurants if they are allowing take out or at home delivery, such as on #TakeOutTuesdays.

As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to call me directly, anytime at 702-769-9225. Until then, thank you for staying home for Nevada.
Sincerely,

Michael Naft
